Easy Quiche Recipe
I love a good quiche and they are very simple to make. I have included some videos of other quiche recipes, also. Often quiche will include ingredients like spinach. I enjoy the more basic quiche recipes, however.
Here is a basic quiche recipe. Remember, that you can add ingredients or experiment by switching out different ingredients to your quiche. This recipe has pork sausage but could have Italian sausage or you could add Canadian bacon, just whatever you like best.
To make this basic quiche recipe you will need these ingredients:
1- 9 inch deep dish pie shell
1/2 pound of hot pork sausage ( I use Jimmy Dean Hot )
4 medium sized eggs
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup flour
2 dashes of salt
1 dash of pepper
1/8 cup of finely chopped onion
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, American or Monterrey jack cheese
First you will need to break your sausage into small pieces and brown it well in a skillet. Once you have browned the sausage drain it well and set aside.
Next beat your eggs in a separate, medium sized bowl, blend in your milk, salt, pepper and flour with your eggs.
Next, place your deep dish pie crust into a round deep pie pan and adjust the crust to fit well in your pie pan by crimping or pinching where needed. Layer in half your cheese, sausage and onion, and then layer in the rest of the cheese, sausage and onion.
Here is where you can get creative. If you have a small amount of red bell pepper or a little bit of diced jalapenos or bacon or Canadian bacon you can add this as well.
Otherwise, just pour in your egg, milk, flour, salt and pepper mix on top of the layered ingredients in your pie shell. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for fifty-five to sixty-five minutes until cooked.
This basic quiche recipe can be used for many different alternative ingredients substituting your own favorite ingredients.
